Number 60 served as a public house, the Coach and Horses, from 1844, and the U shaped block behind was built in the 1880s as a stable yard, with carriage accommodation on the ground floor and stables and a tack room above. Through the twentieth century the buildings housed, among others, a tea room, a photographic paper manufacturer, a lantern slide maker and a sponge factory.
